What is Seller Central?
The account interface where third-party sellers run their Amazon business: listings, inventory, orders, advertising, and performance. It is the working surface for the seller model, as opposed to the vendor one.
Why it matters in practice
Seller Central is worth understanding as an operating system rather than a dashboard, because almost every decision an operator makes is expressed through it: what is listed, at what price, fulfilled how, advertised where, and against what performance record. Its reports are also the honest source for questions that marketing tools tend to answer approximately, which is why reconciling a claim back to the account is a reasonable habit. Access is the part teams handle badly. Sharing one login across an agency, a bookkeeper, and two staff removes any ability to see who changed a price or deleted a listing, and permissions exist specifically so that does not have to happen.
